    Rat models are used for models of human brain tumors. All tumor models use nude rats housed in the animal facilities at OHSU Comparative Medicine. 1. Implanted primary brain tumors – caudate or cerebellum location Glioma (U87MG, UW28, U251) Medulloblastoma (DAOY, D283-Med) B-Cell lymphoma (MC116) Oligodendroglioma (Hs683) 2. Implanted metastatic brain tumors Breast cancer (MDA-MB231BR-HER2, and many other MDA-MB231BR clones with high or low HER2, GFP, fluc) Melanoma (A2058, A375) Lung cancer (LX-1 SCLC, H460 large cell NSCLC, A549 adenocarcinoma, H520 squamous cell) 3. Hematogenous brain metastases, cells infused into the internal carotid artery Breast cancer (MDA-MB231BR-HER2) Melanoma (A2058) Lung cancer (H460 large cell NSCLC, A549 adenocarcinoma) 4. Leptomeningeal tumors, cells infused into cerebral ventricle or cisterna magna Medulloblastoma (DAOY, D283-Med) Breast cancer (MDA-MB231BR-HER2) B-Cell lymphoma (MC116) 5. Intraperitoneal (abdominal cavity) Ovarian ( SKOV3) 6. Subcutaneous Neuroblastoma (SK-N-AS) Many of the cell lines listed above can grow SQ tumors.
